A promise is a statement of something that will happen in the future. This provides an expectation of things to come. A promise is a binding agreement between two different parties. God promises many things. He promised that a saviour would come to reconcile mankind. He did that as promised. When we believe in the saving work of Christ on cross he sealed that promise. We are included in Christ and sealed by the Holy Spirit.
